Change the water every three days, and cut off 1/2 inch from the bottom of flower; and add one part 7-up, sprite or even Pepsi, to three parts hot water. The carbonation keeps the bacteria down and the sugar feeds the flower. (In the rose parade they put straight 7-up in the vile for the roses.) Put the flowers in a clean vase, always. Bacteria kills flowers before old age.
This will work for flowers from your garden too. Cut in early morning or evening, take the hot water with you and put right into the water after cutting. You will put days on the life of your flower. If a flower goes limp, put in a full vase of hot water and put in a cool place. It will revive it.
Once you try the hot water, you'll swear by it.

I am a Florist, who is tired of people getting taken advantage of; by 800#s, and on-line ordering...and therefore, missing the joy of FLOWERS and GIVING FLOWERS.

A great come-on, "No extra charges or tax"......the arrangement price is raised instead, then the lesser amount is actually given to the florist. I had a customer call at Valentines, to say that the rose arrangement he received wasn't worth the $100, he had spent; He was right, the 800# had called and ask how much for a dozen roses, the answer was $60 plus $5 delivery and that is the amount I received, and that is the arrangement he had received. This will NOT happen with Karen's Flower House.
Orders can
be taken anytime of the day or night BUT it can only be delivered during the
time that a florist delivers, on days that they deliver and where deliveries are
possible. Most florist shops make deliveries during normal business hours
(9 am to 5 or 6 pm). However, since we do not know each florist's delivery
schedule for a particular day, we will be unable to guarantee delivery requests
for a specific time or within an hourly range. Requests may be taken for either
an a.m. or p.m. delivery, but they cannot be guaranteed.
Most P.O.Box
addresses
can not be delivered, they need to be picked up or there is an extra
charge. Not ALL of the areas of the World or United States have delivery
service.....but I will find out for you.
NOT all flowers last a week, no matter what they guarantee.
NO deliveries can be made to a Hospital I.C.U. or C.C.U., but the I can keep trying until the recipient is in a room.
